Mastering Joint and Bone Health: The Importance of Orthopedic CME for NPs and PAs

Spring sports are in full swing. Menopause and its health impacts continue to break into daily conversations as the stigma against talking about this very real health challenge fades. Obesity rates are starting to decline, but they’re still higher than a decade ago. And, more people are out enjoying the weather, exercising or just getting out for the fresh air. What do all of these seemingly unrelated truths have in common? Joint, bone health, and Orthopedic CME of course!

Whether a young athlete injures himself on the soccer pitch, a woman gets a diagnosis of osteopenia, a “weekend warrior” overdoes it during a 10K, or the pain of arthritis forces someone to give up a beloved activity, Skin, Bones, Hearts & Private Parts – a leading national provider of CME – continues to make orthopedics a keystone of our curriculum. Our goal? To provide evidence-based information on common orthopedic medical issues in order to improve patient outcomes.

Mastering Joint and Bone Health

In fact, orthopedics is part of ALL 10 of our 2025 In-person CME Conferences, with Travis L. Randolph, PA-C, ATC, one of two orthopedics speakers on our schedule for the year, saying, “I enjoy teaching other nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) about all aspects of orthopedics, and teaching gives me the opportunity to stay up to date in orthopedic literature and research. I always encourage new NPs and PAs to continue learning as many new skills as possible to expand their respective practices and add value to their own career – and I apply that same philosophy to myself!”

Randolph and Christopher Hemmer, DNP, ANP-BC, ONP-C, FAANP, our second speaker with an orthopedics focus, will cover a wide range of topics at this year’s In-person CME Conferences – also available via our Virtual CME platform – including imaging, fractures, exam techniques, neck and back pain, and joint health. “I’ve seen a higher prevalence of ligamentous injuries in younger athletes due to the demand of sports,” Randolph added, “as well as noticeable arthritic changes in younger patients secondary to obesity and chronic injuries. I’m looking forward to discussing and sharing what I’ve seen in my practice, as well as new advances such as injectable options for joint pain, including cryoneurolysis.”
