Continuing Medical Education: More than a Requirement

Continuing medical education (CME) is of course a requirement for physicians, physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and registered nurses (RNs), but it’s also a critically important way to grow professionally and provide the best patient care possible. At Skin, Bones, Hearts & Private Parts, we engage the medical field’s top thought leaders and speakers, who are committed to sharing their expertise and encouraging CME Conference attendees to never stop learning.

“Medicine is constantly changing, with new information being published daily,” said Gerald Weniger, PhD, ATC, PA-C, who will provide a full-day session on orthopedics at our CME Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC, June 24-27. “How can we ourselves not continue to be updated?  Schooling is just the foundation, but we all need to be lifelong learners of medicine. This is why it’s called medical ‘practice’.”

Kara Roman, MMS, PA-C, a dermatology specialist who will also present at Myrtle Beach, as well as at Orlando from June 3-6 and again in Orlando from October 21-24, agrees, saying, “I believe, especially in dermatology, you will never see what you do not know, meaning you have to continually expose yourself to presentations of disease and patterns of skin lesions so that you are able to make a confident diagnosis. Learning is a good exercise for the mind, and a mind at work is a happy and productive one. The bottom line is that if I am continually learning and honing my craft, my patients will get the best of me, and that is what they always deserve.”

It is with this kind of commitment that all of our speakers come to our CME Conferences, ready to give the very best of themselves to our attendees.
