Earning continuing medical education (CME) hours is an integral part of being a Nurse Practitioner (NP), with most state licensing boards requiring around 30 hours of CME and member organizations such as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) requiring additional hours on top of what the NP’s respective state requires. Earning CME is, of course, about more than just meeting requirements – it’s an essential way to build knowledge, obtain new perspectives, and develop skills that are essential to delivering quality patient care.
