What makes a dermatoses or lesions difficult to diagnose and treat? Successful dermatology outcomes start with a basic understanding of skin anatomy, appendages, and cell function. Next comes evaluating primary and secondary morphology and distribution of lesions.  Failure to properly work up a patient can end with incorrect, costly treatments that frustrate the patient and the clinician.  More importantly, incorrect treatments and procedures can be detrimental to the patient. Once you have your work up results, now what do you do? With a vast number of dermatology medications and treatment options being available, confusion with prescribing and treatment plans can be overwhelming for the beginning provider. Being knowledgeable of mechanism of action, correct vehicle, and recognizing the right combination of medications is a fundamental skill. If you are the treating provider, it is crucial to know the appropriate treatment options, including risks and benefits, for cancers and dermatoses.

This lecture series was developed to help clinicians from all specialties learn important methodical approaches to treating a patient.
